Dick & Jane's Converted Tile Shower
"It all started with a Christmas Card", Dick, from
Rotonda West, said. We had originally done work for them three years
ago. We sent out Christmas Cards this past December and he gave me a
call to tell me about his new project. He is thinking correctly that
it would be best to fix up the place now while the Real Estate
market is down. This way he can add value to their house.
Plus,
Jane is landing a gorgeous new master bath! I went to their house,
measured the areas to be tiled and provided an estimate with a tile
allowance included. I then emailed the invoice to Dick and Jane. At
a later date I stopped by and we selected the tiles for the
different areas being tiled. (Rotonda is in the center of Englewood,
Cape Haze, South Golf Cove, and Boca Grade.)
The idea is really fantastic. The tub is
beside the shower-- the tub that doesn't get used, that is. The shower
is dated, but in good shape. So Dick is tearing out the tub and
making a walk-in shower. The entrance will be at the far end of
where the tub used to be. A knee-high wall with glass on top will sit
where the front of the tub once did.
The concrete under the tub will be recessed for
drainage and a shower floor will cover the area when we are through.
Some of the other work for us is in taking down the existing tile
and drywall. We are replacing this with cement backer board. We are
adding a shower corner seat, a recessed shampoo niche, and a towel
bar in the new shower. This is going to be so beautiful, you should
do the same thing if you have a tub next to your shower! The design
will include a listello at eye level with the rectangular tiles
placed the tall side vertically, which is common, yet still very
attractive.

other particulars, making sure all your questions are answered.
- We will receive the material and confirm the scheduled
installation date.
- We will come out, protect our work area, properly prepare
the area you want work done on, confirm the material and pattern
of install is correct.
- A certificate of liability and workman's comp., county and
city licenses will be provided.
- The work will be done by Mann Tile, Inc. employees trained
in our installation systems to ensure uniform
craftsmanship on every job.
- The job will be inspected by you.
- You will be a member of the Mann Tile family, entitled to a
referral fee for anyone referred to our company from you,
insider floor care tips, and be the first to know of any tiles
that are deeply discounted.
